Welcome to the Big Red Barn!
Big Red Barn reopens
The Big Red Barn Graduate and Professional Student Center, closed late last year to undergo some structural repairs, is now open. The facility will remain open throughout the semester (and over the summer for TGIF), and the programs that were relocated over the winter are back, including:
Mondays -- monthly GPSA meetings
Tuesdays -- Swing Dance
Wednesdays -- Salsa Lessons and Dance
Thursdays -- International Coffee Hours, the German Circle and Tango Practice
Fridays -- TGIF ("Tell Grads It's Friday")
Regular hours for the Big Red Barn are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for breakfast and lunch, and 2:15 to 10 p.m. for snack service and programs.
Reservations can be made through the Big Red Barn online reservation request form at brb.gradschool.cornell.edu.
If you have questions, please contact Kris Corda at kc31@cornell.edu or call 254-GRAD.
Go wireless at the Barn!
Graduate students, faculty and staff can now take advantage of the wireless network at the Barn. Red Rover, Cornell's wireless Internet access service, spans the entire building, the outdoor patios, and into the surrounding gardens.
About the Big Red Barn
The Big Red Barn is a special place for graduate and professional students. It's a center to meet students from other fields and schools; a setting for student, faculty, and staff interaction; a place to eat breakfast, lunch, and evening snacks; and a retreat for pleasant informal surroundings to relax, enjoy music, play the piano, or read.
Many graduate student events are held in the Barn's flexible facility, including the popular weekly social, T.G.I.F. (Tell Grads It's Friday), and the International Coffee Hour.
